Mother's Day is not exactly my favorite holiday. Sure, I'm a mom, but I think there's an awful lot of pressure and hype built into the holiday. As far as I'm concerned, my kids could just pile up in bed with me on Mother's Day and we could snuggle and watch TV and be just fine.
Unfortunately, that's not how it will work out. My husband is a restaurant manager, and Mother's Day is the #1 restaurant holiday, so he'll be at work all day. We'll probably go to church and then for dinner at my mom's house. It will be nice, but I'd still rather pile up in bed and watch TV.
What is nice about the holiday is the chance I will get to show my mom how much she means to me. My mom has been an absolute rock in my life- she is supportive and loving, and I can trust that she'll do what she says. My mom's fabulous, fun, and funny. She's beautiful and resourceful and wise. I'm lucky to have a mom like her.
Tell me about your mom and/or how you'll spend Mother's Day. Will it be a big family affair, or will it be small and cozy?
