You know the old axiom that the best present for a kid is a plain old cardboard box? Seriously, it's so true. One of my twitter pals posted a picture of her son playing in a mudhole. It's little things like this that stick in my memories of childhood.
My daughter and I saw a rainbow last week and she was overjoyed. She told me it didn't take much to make her happy, and I told her being able to really enjoy the little things is what's going to get her through the really tough times.
It's things like this that we adults need to remember to take pleasure in, too.
